It’s good being home. Most of the time.
But when taking a walk early Monday morning with Daphne, I couldn’t help but be mesmerized by the beauty of my hometown.
From my last post, I said I moved back to suburbia. Back to my hometown actually – a place I haven’t lived since I graduated from high school ten years ago.
It’s good to be back. One of the biggest reasons I decided to move back rather than stay closer to the city was because I wanted a dog. I love dogs and I’ve always had one growing up.
I realized I was ready to “settle down” and I was ready for the responsibility of owning a dog again
So, I moved June 1st and within 3 weeks, I was owner to a 9 month old boxer puppy named Daphne. I inherited her from my sister and I am so thankful she is part of my life.
It hasn’t been without challenges of course – but I wouldn’t change it for the world. She has become my baby – and in a way life revolves around her, and I don’t mind.
I take her with me as much as I can and in late August, I drove up toLake Champlain for my best friend’s wedding and brought Daphne along. And she had a blast. As you’ll see from the pictures – she’s a beautiful dog who lives with joy in her life. I honestly have learned to live life with a lot more joy because of her.
Wow,it’s been a year since I’ve last blogged. Well – more than a year. I can’t believe how much time has passed but also how much has changed in a year.
I know I say to myself that I will blog and post – but I get overwhelmed on how far behind I am. So, I’m just biting the bullet and starting again.
It has been interesting rereading my past posts. I did pretty well for a while, had interruptions, but did blog. But again, life always gets in the way.
I still enjoy reading other blogs – I jus wonder if others really enjoyed reading mine.
Regardless, I’ll try to continue blogging because in the end, I do enjoy it.
What’s happened in the pat year?
I’ve dine traveling – Peru, Deep Creek MD, Costa Rica, Lake Champlain, Lake Anna, and other mini trips. All enjoyable.
I continued fun with friends. I moved…again. And I have a boyfriend. Whoa! All big changes.
I’ll continue – but I’m watching the first day of the NFL 2011-2013 season.
For now – enjoy some random photos from the past year.
Roast Chicken!
I’ve never cooked a Roast Chicken… an entire chicken! It’s like cooking a mini turkey – and it turned out amazing if I do say so myself. And it was so simple to make! It was the whole chicken, lemons, salt and pepper <– How easy is that??
Take a look at the pictures! I made a side spinach salad and some cous cous. Yummmo.
