Bucket List for 2011

Bucket List for 2011

Okay…

Things I want to do this year – hopefully I’ll accomplish all of them – or at least 50% of them… here goes!

- Do another Solo backpacking trip – already in the works for Colombia in February

- Go camping on the beach (hopefully my birthday weekend in April)

- A day trip skiing – I’ve been mentioning this for the past few years and it still hasn’t happened… it will this year. I swear it!

- Go skydiving – always on my list – but I’m determined it will happen this year.

- Go to NYC more than once this year – and while I’m there visit my aunt and cousin on Long Island

- Bike my own city of Washington DC – I’ve bike NYC, San Fran, Sonoma, and I plan on biking in Bogota – I need to bike my own city!

- Learn to crochet/knit – and actually finish a project!

- Complete two-three more triathlons this year – including the same one I do every year – the Kinectic Sprint Triathlon in May 2011.

- See more pyramids – including Macchu Picchu (Peru with my brother) and the Great Pyramids in Eygpt – if/when I go to visit my friend Eric who is moving to Egypt this August – and I plan on visiting him at the end of the year.

- Learn how to make a salmon dish… cooking seafood intimidates me.. I will conquer salmon.

- Apply to be a contestant on the Amazing Race/Survivor – two shows that I absolutely love and would do in a heartbeat. I don’t know if I’ll be able to get on unless I apply, right?

- Swim a mile without stopping – my swimming endurance is pretty good now, I think I can do this by the end of the year.

- Get scuba certified

- Pay off my credit card debt

- Walk/Cross another famous bridge… I don’t know which one it’ll be – but I’ll figure it out soon. I’ve done Brooklyn Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge… what are some other famous bridges? Any in Peru, Egypt or Colombia?

These are the things that are at the top of my list for now – none of these are in particular order – but I know I can’t wait to keep crossing things off!

Any suggestions to add to my Bucket List 2011?

  1. That is an ambitious list. I’ve done duathalons (bike and run) and marathons, but I can’t do the swimming part.

I can probably help with the cooking Salmon if you need tips. I am planning on making a salmon dish in a few weeks for my Mother-in-law.

    • Just get in the pool and you’ll get the hang of swimming. You can do the short races and you’ll do great!

  2. That’s a pretty awesome list! You might want to plant a few trees as well to offset your plane flights!

I wouldn’t bother with salmon but that’s because I hate it. I’m quite intimidated by fish too (and am very wary of most of the rest of seafood) but I am going to try and master a cod dish of some kind.

    • I like the idea of planting treats to offset all the plane flights! I’ll see what I can do about that! :-)

  3. This is an awesome list. If my list ever met your list, it would look on in awe. I took a trip to San Diego last year and I thought that was ambitious…wow

    • I’m sure you’re list is just as awesome. I’ve been to San Diego once and it was for a day AND I was only 13 and full of teenage angst. I’d really love to go there one day and spend more time there.

  4. When are we making our “Amazing Race” audition tape? Holla!

    • LOL, SOOOOON! :-) <3
